I want to get my yard certified

I've been thinking long and hard about what I want to do with my backyard and my wife gave me a great idea. She recommended that we go with plants and flowers which are native to our area. That part is already taken care of and will start to work on it in the next several months. My question is about the National Wildlife Habitat certification. Based on the idea we have, we should be eligible for the certificate, so I wanted to ask if anyone here has it and is it a complicated and terous process?
